Use tagged links where appropriate, capture referral data, connect signups to later purchases, and ask customers how they heard about you when the path cannot be measured cleanly.
Social media often assists a sale rather than owning the final click, so last-click analytics can understate its role while platform dashboards can overstate it.
Look for patterns across cohorts. Do customers who first encounter you on LinkedIn close faster? Do Instagram visitors join the email list but convert later through search? Does a particular content topic repeatedly appear in the journeys of buyers?
The goal is not to force every sale into one channel. It is to understand enough of the social media attribution path to decide whether the channel is creating valuable attention, qualified demand and revenue.
