What do I do when my content stops working?
Obviously you adjust it. But adjust based on something, not on panic.
What to look at, in order:
Did reach drop, or did engagement drop? If reach dropped, it's distribution. Something changed on the platform, or your recent posts told it your stuff isn't worth showing. If reach is the same and engagement fell, it's the content.
When did it start? A sharp drop on one date is usually a platform change. A slow fade over months is you.
What were you doing when it worked? Go back and read it. Most people drift without noticing. The posts that worked were sharper, more specific, more opinionated, and somewhere along the way you got comfortable.
Has your audience changed? If you grew a lot, the people reading now aren't the people you were writing for.
Are you bored? This is a real one. If you're bored writing it, they're bored reading it, and that shows up in the numbers before you admit it to yourself.
Then change one big thing, not five small ones. Format, topic, angle, or how direct you're being. Give it a few weeks.
And if nothing works, go back to the strongest thing you ever posted and do that again properly. Not a variation of it. That.
