Why do my LinkedIn posts get likes but no comments?

Someone can agree with a LinkedIn post privately enough to click like but not have anything useful to add publicly under their own name. This is especially common with professional or sensitive topics.
If you want more comments, give people something specific to respond to. A clear question, a distinction they can compare with experience, or an opinion they may want to extend usually creates more conversation than a generic “Thoughts?”
But do not assume comments are always the better result. Saves, profile visits, shares in private messages and direct enquiries may be more valuable.
The right metric depends on what the post is supposed to do. A quiet audience can still be paying very close attention.
